Theresa Guillot

Theresa Guillot and her husband Bruce, after being gone from the Houston/Galveston area for over ten years, moved back to Houston in 1999 and then to Galveston Island in 2005. She graduated from The University of Central Oklahoma with her BS in Early Childhood Eduction. In 2005 she was awarded Teacher of the Year with the Deer Park Independent School District, where she has been a Kindergarten teacher for ten years. They live in Jamaica Beach and, as with many others on the Island, decided to stay after Hurricane Ike and help rebuild the Island’s great potential. Her favorite activity is to watch the sunset over the water – be it on a bike, a golf cart or a rocking chair. Words that inspire her: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.
