SELECTED IMAGE FOR GALLERY SHOWING ABOVE – FULL ROLL BELOW
ABOUT THE SELECTED IMAGE: The reason that I’ve chosen this photo is because I stayed here for the storm (pretty smart, I know) and helped rebuild after, and seeing the statue of Poseiden with mother and child all but reminded me that no matter what adversity that our island faces, we ALWAYS rise above. That being said, that’s why that I’ve tried to capture the image of the sun being grasped by Posiden’s hand, as a sign of the silver lining in the midst of turmoil.
Hey y'all, my name is Roshawn Greene, I'm 31 years old, and I was born and raised in Galveston (B.O.I. as the locals would put it) and still live here on the island. I work at Target as a Flow Team Member, and at times a freelance artist. My outdoor activities and interests involve skateboarding, bmx and I've just discovered inline skating. That being said, you'll notice that the majority of my pictures were taken at the skatepark, which is located in between 27th and 28th & Seawall, where some of the local kids were ripping it up on one Saturday afternoon. Also, a couple of friends and I are trying to start a skate camp on the island to mentor kids through the teachings of roller skating. I would like to thank Will and Shannon for inviting me to take part in this fun and interesting project, for with this camera that I was assigned I've explored places in Galveston that I've either forgotten about and/or never gotten the opportunity to explore. I hope that you enjoy my photos! Thanks!
