Laura Hughes

After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with high honors and a degree in History, Laura taught 8th grade for two years in Dickinson ISD. From there, she attended South Texas College of Law Houston. She has been practicing law since 2010 and currently works as an Assistant Compliance Attorney at American National Insurance Company focusing on ethics, privacy, and information security matters. She is especially proud of her volunteer work in the area of education, serving on the boards for the Galveston ISD Educational Foundation, Trinity Episcopal School, and Smart Family Literacy, among others. She loves the barrier island her family calls home.
