I moved to Galveston from Pennsylvania in 1975 for a two year grant in the UTMB Department of Pediatrics… and never left. My job for UTMB has me involved in community-campus partnerships which have led to wonderful co-operative relationships over the years that have made Galveston a healthier place. I love the people, places and attitudes of the Island, the positive ones, that is. I walk and ride my bike everyday and this allows a great view of this beautiful city. I have watched the re-birth of the East End (where I live) and other neighborhoods, such as the Strand, the downtown, our municipal golf course; and the constant growth of UTMB and the west end. I have seen the consequences of strong-winded and big-water hurricanes. I have seen festivals come and go. And I have been blessed to travel and take photographs all around the world. I have traveled to 52 countries and all the continents with my best friend Sally Robinson. I love Galveston and hope my enthusiasm puts me in the right place at the right time to capture some of the uniqueness of the Island on film.
