The daughter of four supportive parents, I spent my childhood in ultimate 70's style: trying to perfect the faux light saber. Growing up in West Texas I learned the culinary importance of beef, beer, avocado & lime. The usual happened: disenfranchised feelings, a move to New York City, tasting my way through all five boroughs, the inevitable attempt to reclaim my Amarillo heritage in a bite more refined than the plate on which it was initially served. Fast Forward to the Third Coast segment of my life. Streets like Chelsea. Cowboy boots on paved brick streets. Seaside drives become High Plains memory. Inspiration & motivation between two slices of bread Galveston became more than my wide open space, but home and family.
